CRICKET – IN a dramatic rain-shortened encounter at Bangkok’s Terdthai Cricket Ground, Nepal defeated Bahrain by six wickets (DLS method) in Match 14 of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025.
The match was reduced to 12.4 overs per side after weather interruptions, with Nepal chasing a revised target of 57 in six overs.
Bahrain, who batted first, built their innings around steady partnerships but three run-outs hampered their progress.
Nepal captain Indu Barma, who was named the Player of the Match, smashed 24 not out off just seven balls. Barma’s 19-run partnership with Puja Mahato (13 off 11) in 10 balls took Nepal within touching distance of victory after early wickets. Bahrain’s Pavithra Shetty took three wickets in two overs but Nepal reached the target with two balls to spare.
Bahrain will look to bounce back in their next qualifier match, while Nepal continue their strong form in the tournament.
