A British Airways flight to London from Bahrain was cancelled in the early hours of today because of an ‘engine problem’.
Passengers were due to take off at 0055 and were informed by the pilot at 4am in the airport’s passenger gate that the flight could not take off until the senior crew members had taken their mandatory 10-hour rest period.
It is not known whether the delayed flight will be able to depart this evening or two BA flights will leave in the early hours of tomorrow.
A frustrated passenger told the GDN. “No one seems to know what’s happening.”
BA Services said in a statement to passengers: “BA124 - Despite our best efforts, we've made the difficult decision to delay the departure of your flight to London Heathrow overnight. Please keep an eye out for an email containing further information. Thank you for your patience.”
