Bahrain’s world champion Winfred Yavi has advanced to the final of the women’s 3,000 metres steeplechase at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Yavi won the second of three first round heats this morning with a time of nine minutes 15.11 seconds. It was a comfortable run for the 24-year-old, who showed her quality as favourite and will go for her first Olympic medal in the steeplechase final on Tuesday, scheduled for 10.14pm, Bahrain time.
