An agreement to support initiatives dedicated to the sustainable growth of the Farmers Market in Hoorat A’ali has been announced by the Bahrain Development Bank (BDB), with the Ahli United Bank officially sponsoring the market.
The market enables Bahraini farmers to sell fresh and locally grown organic products, exchange expertise with one another with the aim to develop agriculture in the kingdom.
It also contributes to enhancing food security by utilising Bahraini products and opening doors for international exports and ensuring a sustained market of national agricultural products.
“The partnership will help support more impactful initiatives tied to the Farmers Market and its role in supporting farmers and the agricultural sector in Bahrain,” said BDB chief executive Dalal Al Qais.
“We firmly believe in the importance of adopting sustainable practices, investing in our community, expanding growth opportunities and empowering local projects.
“We are committed to highlighting food security endeavours, and aim to make use of the country’s resources and further contribute to its economic prosperity.”
Ahli United Bank chief executive Ahmed Alkharji said: “We look forward to empowering farmers and promoting the export and sustainability of local agricultural products.
“The collaboration reflects our responsibility to the community in which weoperate, as we strive to contribute to the growth of our society and the development of its resources.”
