MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-British GT team 2 Seas Motorsport have announced their participation in the 2024-25 season of the Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) – the continent’s premier endurance racing championship run by the organisers of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
2 Seas confirmed that they will be making their ALMS debut in its new campaign, which flags off in December of this year and continues until February of 2025. It will feature six rounds, to be held in Malaysia and the UAE.
“Excited to announce further racing for this year’s campaign, and into the new season,” 2 Seas said.
The team, co-owned by Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will be hitting the track in their Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo contender.
More details on 2 Seas’ driver line-up and livery for the ALMS will be announced in due course, they added.
2 Seas will be competing in the series’ Grand Touring (GT) class. There are also Le Mans Prototypes (LMP2 and LMP3) categories in the championship, which is expected to feature a large grid of over 40 cars.
Next season’s six races will each run over four hours in duration. Rounds one and two will take place at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on December 7 and 8, while rounds three and four will be held at Dubai Autodrome on February 8 and 9. The season’s last two events will then take place at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on February 15 and 16.
Teams competing in the ALMS will not only be vying for championship glory, but they will also be fighting for invitations to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2025 – one of the biggest and most prestigious events in all of global motorsport.
The champions of both the LMP2 and GT classes will both be awarded an invite to be a part of the iconic event in Le Mans, France, which is a part of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).
Prior to the races, rounds also consist of two 90-minute free-practice sessions and qualifying.
The ALMS was created by the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), which also organises the WEC.
2 Seas continue to make waves on the international motorsport scene. The ALMS adds to an already busy year where they are also competing in the British GT Championship and the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup.
They were last year crowned the British GT3 Teams’ champions – their maiden title in the popular UK-based championship.
