BODYBUILDING – FORMER Bahrain resident Warren Fernandez was yesterday crowned champion of the men’s bodybuilding open middleweight (80kg and under) category in the 2024 Australian National Championships – Pro Qualifier, held at Kingston Arts Centre in Moorabbin, Victoria.
Fernandez captured his gold medal ahead of silver-medallist Scott Rigney and bronze-medal winner Tony Nguyen.
His victory came just a week after bagging the silver medal in his weight-class at the 2024 New South Wales (NSW) State Championships, which earned him a spot in the nationals.
Both events were held under the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federation (IFBB) Pro League Australia.
Fernandez was joined by family members at yesterday’s event, including his father Elroy, his mother Kim, and younger brother Ryan.
The 42-year-old Australian citizen is an older sibling of Bollywood superstar and former Miss Universe Sri Lanka Jacqueline Fernandez.
