Muscat- The National Competitiveness Committee (NCC) today held its second regular meeting of 2024 under the auspices of Dr. Said Mohammed Al Saqri, Minister of Economy. The meeting was attended by representatives of the private sector.
The meeting discussed a follow-up report on the decisions made by the NCC in its first meeting of in 2024. It also looked into the draft agenda of a media briefing due to be held by the National Competitiveness Office to enhance transparency with the community and update interested parties about the latest developments in the “International Indicators System”.
The meeting discussed the experience of the national team tasked with improving the performance of the Sultanate of Oman in the “Environmental Performance Index (EPI)”.
The meeting also reviewed successful experiences in governance of the EPI and ways of analyzing flaws and correcting them. It is worth noting that such action helped raise the Sultanate of Oman’s global ranking to 54th position in 2024, from 149th place in 2020.
