Flexible working hours for educational and administrative staff will be introduced next Sunday in Kuwait, three weeks into the school year.
The new guidelines require at least one member of the school administration to be present during student hours until the end of the official workday. Compliance will be overseen by educational stage supervisors. Teaching and administrative staff may take off-duty hours, provided their total official working hours do not fall below five hours, in line with children's rights legislation. Official working hours for public schools will vary by educational stage.
Mentors will have set working hours of 7 AM to 2 PM.
Staff must confirm their presence at work using a fingerprint system within 60 minutes of the start of their workday. Those who fail to do so without prior permission will be marked absent, impacting their monthly attendance records.
