The first academic pharmacist in Bahrain and the Gulf, Rasool Abdulali Al Jishi, died yesterday. Besides his passion for prose and poetry, the late Mr Al Jishi was the first Bahraini to work as an academic pharmacist after completing his higher education at the American University of Beirut (AUB).
He opened Al Jishi Pharmacy and was also one of the founders of Bahrain Pharmacists Society and the National Democratic Gathering Society, which was established in 2001. He served as the society’s secretary general for many tenures and was also president of Al Oruba Club.
