FOOTBALL – BAHRAIN Club and Malkiya played to a goalless draw last night to wrap up the fifth week of action in the 2024-25 Nasser bin Hamad Bahrain Premier League.
Despite their best efforts, neither side could find the net in the contest and they each had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Bahrain Club came away with their first draw after five games so far in this new campaign and improved to seven points on the league table. For Malkiya, it was their third stalemate in five tries and they went to six points not far behind.
At the end of week five, Sitra are atop the standings with an undefeated record from four matches and a maximum 12 points.
Muharraq follow with 11 points after five games and defending champions Al Khaldiya are third with nine points from four. Riffa complete the top four with seven points, tied with Najma, Shabab, and Bahrain Club.
Ahli are also on six points with Malkiya, while the bottom three clubs are A’ali with four points, Manama with two, and East Riffa with zero.
League action continues on Saturday with three straight days of play. Muharraq take on Sitra in a battle of the top two sides on Saturday while Bahrain Club go up against A’ali. On Sunday, East Riffa play Manama and Malkiya take on Al Najma. On Monday, Ahli clash with Riffa while Shabab battle Khaldiya.
