An expatriate family that went viral online for collecting rubbish from a beach in Bahrain, and a young Bahraini girl who shared her recycling initiative were recently honoured by the government.
Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Minister Wael Al Mubarak presented them with gifts and praised their sustainable work.
“Bahrain‘s community is highly aware and remarkably creative, and are constantly amazing me with their incredible initiatives driven by their love for the country and environment,” he said.
“The least we can do is to show our appreciation and offer them encouragement. We look forward to see more of these initiatives being carried out.”
