Three men have been arrested for employing bait-and-switch tactics to con a woman into buying a damaged phone.
The victim reportedly reached out to one of the suspects, described by police only as Asians, after seeing an advertisement on a social media platform.
She then placed the order and paid the full amount in advance. However, upon receiving the phone, she found that it was damaged and did not match the advertised specifications.
When she tried to contact the seller, she was shocked to find that he had blocked her.
She filed a complaint with the Samaheej Police Station which launched an investigation leading to the identification and arrest of the three men.
Legal measures have been taken to refer them to the Public Prosecution for trial.
