There has been a growing number of food truck incidents in recent months, coinciding with a proliferation of fast food businesses across the island.
The GDN has regularly reported about trucks catching fire due to gas and petrol leaks, amongst other causes.
“There have been cases of fires among food trucks and portable coffee and tea shops due to either negligence or complacency,” Interior Ministry Civil Defence operations officer Captain Mohamed Jamal earlier warned, urging food truck operators to ensure all safety protocols were adhered to after a spate of blazes at locations popular with families.
