BAHRAIN has held a grand celebration to mark the anniversary of its National Action Charter.
His Majesty King Hamad, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, attended the celebrations at the National Action Charter Monument in Sakhir yesterday.
Senior members of the Royal Family were also present at the event, organised annually by the Education Ministry.
More than 3,000 students from public and private schools participated in the celebration, welcoming the King with chants.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was received by Education Minister Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma, along with ministry officials.
The event began with the national anthem, followed by a Quran recitation by student Issa Yousif Al Jalal from Al Hidaya Al Khalifia Secondary Boys School.
Students Omran Ali Al Hajri from Hassan bin Thabit Primary Boys School and Ali Zuhair Al Dhaif recited the poem Al Dhaw’ Lah (The Light Has Shone) by the late poet Ghazi Al Gosaibi, while student Ali Hassan Al Arjani from Wadi Al Sail Primary Intermediate Boys School presented the poem Bu Salman Al Fakhr (Bu Salman, the Pride) by poet Mohammed bin Jukhair Al Arjani.
Students also performed three musical pieces produced by the ministry.
The first, Salam Ya Ahl Al Wafa (Greetings to the People of Loyalty), featured lyrics by poet Ali Matar Al Mazrouei, composed by Jassim Al Harban, and performed by Mohammed Al Bakri.
The second, Bahrain Ya Umna Al Azizah (Bahrain, Our Beloved Mother), was written by poet Ibrahim Al Ansari, composed by Jassim Al Harban and performed by Nasser Al Saadi.
The third, 25 Sana Namdhi Maan (25 Years Moving Forward Together), was written by poet Hisham Al Shurouqi, composed by Jaber Al Turki, and performed by Jaber Al Turki and Mohammed Rabia.
The King expressed appreciation to the ministry and its staff for organising the annual celebration.
He commended the students’ participation, noting that it reflects the values instilled through citizenship education.
His Majesty also commended the ministry’s efforts in fostering national identity and strengthening a sense of belonging among students.
Dr Juma extended his congratulations to the King and HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister on the 24th anniversary of the Charter, which coincides with the kingdom’s Silver Jubilee celebrations marking His Majesty’s accession.
He highlighted Bahrain’s distinguished standing in regional and international forums under the King’s leadership and commended the government, led by HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for advancing national development through strategic policies that enhance public services and modernise various sectors.
Dr Juma further noted the government’s commitment to education, underscoring its role in equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed for innovation and professional success.
The minister also emphasised that, in line with the King’s directives, the ministry continues to integrate the principles and values of the National Action Charter into school curricula and extracurricular activities, reinforcing citizenship and national pride among students.
