FOOTBALL – THE 2025-26 Nasser Bin Hamad Bahrain Premier Football League resumes tonight with the first of three straight exciting matchdays.
The games will be the first action in the kingdom’s top-tier football competition since the start of the unfortunate events that are taking place on the island. They will be held without any fans in attendance.
A mammoth clash is scheduled for one of this evening’s fixtures. It is between defending champions Muharraq and title contenders Riffa, and it will be played at Khalifa Sports City Stadium in Isa Town. Both sides are currently in the top three on the table along with Al Khaldiya, with Muharraq on 36 points and Riffa on 33.
Muharraq will be looking to maintain their advantage over Riffa, who will be aiming to make up some ground in the title race.
Also tonight, Sitra will be facing off with Budaiya at the National Stadium in Riffa. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 9.30pm.
Tomorrow, Khaldiya will be locking horns with lowly Bahrain Club, who are last on the standings with seven points, at Khalifa Sports City Stadium; while Hidd and Al Najma will be battling at the National Stadium.
On Saturday, Malkiya and A’ali will be going head-to-head at Khalifa Sports City, and Al Ahli take on Al Shabab at the National Stadium.
All four games tomorrow and Saturday are also scheduled to get underway at 9.30pm.
