A Russian man landed in a hospital in Vladivostock after he went out of his way to attempt 2,000 squats within a set period of time.
He had bet his friend that he could pull it off in a single session. And he managed to do it. However, within hours of completing the challenge, his legs began to swell painfully before he completely stopped urinating.
After seeking medical attention, he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyolysis, a potentially fatal condition that occurs when excessive muscle breakdown releases toxins into the bloodstream, overloading the kidney and eventually causing failure.
Luckily for the man, though, his kidney only dropped to 50% of its normal capacity and was saved before the condition worsened.
His recovery from his Mike Tyson-esque routine will take anywhere from three months to a year.
