BOXING – Former British, Commonwealth, and inter-continental heavyweight champion Scott Welch is set to be the star guest at the Domestic Boxing Open Air Event, taking place at Dilmun Club in Saar this Friday.
The fight night is being organised by the Bahrain Boxing Federation.
Welch is the WBC Cares UK chairman, and is also famous for his role in the 2000 feature film Snatch, where he had a fight scene with superstar actor Brad Pitt.
The upcoming open air boxing night will be the seventh edition of the event. It has been a popular draw amongst boxing fans in the past, and it will be showcasing fights featuring many of the kingdom’s top boxers.
Doors are scheduled to open at 2pm and the first fight will be at 5pm.
Dilmun Club members and under-12 fans can get in for free, while tickets for others are BD5 and a VIP table is BD120. Tickets can be purchased by calling 17690926 or on manama.platinumlist.net
There will also be plenty of food and beverages, a raffle, kids’ activities, and live music.
