A beach clean-up was held in Muharraq to celebrate environmental responsibility and community engagement.
It was organised by Karnataka Cultural Foundation (KCF) Bahrain, in collaboration with Al Hilal Healthcare Group.
The campaign covered the beach at Al Ghouse Corniche in Muharraq, and included members of the community coming together to clean the area.
Volunteers received t-shirts, caps, gloves and cleaning tools. KCF president Vittal Jamaluddin gave a speech at the event. He was joined by general secretary Haris Sampya, treasurer Muhaz Ujire, secretary of the International Council knowledge wing Khalandar Ustad, as well as president and secretary of the relief wing Razzak Aneka and Ashraf Kinya, respectively.
Participants carried out the clean-up efficiently, collecting and packing waste for proper disposal by the Muharraq municipality.
A brief closing ceremony was attended by representatives from the Muharraq Governorate office – social programmes and community affairs department director Hamad Mohammed Al Jowder, social programmes head Ahmed Ali Al Mahmeed, senior social programmes specialist Alaa Abbas Al Moallem, senior social programmes specialist Latifa Al Khattal, and social programmes specialist Aisha Al Mannai.
Attendees were offered refreshments and goodie bags.
Al Hilal Healthcare Group thanked its team members who helped co-ordinate the event, as well as all volunteers, supporters and partners who contributed towards making the event a success.
