3,076 people gathered in the small French town of Landerneau to set a new record for the most people dressed up as Smurfs.
The Smurfs are a famous Belgian comic series about blue characters dressed in long white caps who live in mushroom-shaped houses in the forest.
Landerneau had attempted the world record twice before but could not surpass the previous record of 2,762 dressed participants, which was set in Germany in 2019.
On Sunday, however, France made their third attempt and officially broke the new record. Paramount Pictures supported this effort ahead of the release of the film Smurfs, which is set for July 18.
