Fiamma Villaverde went to the cinema with her 11-year-old daughter and a friend to celebrate her birthday, after deciding to watch ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines' at Cinema Ocho, in La Plata, Argentina. But things took a shocking turn when the cinema ceiling suddenly collapsed, quickly turning the movie experience into a real-life horror scene.
Initially, Villaverde thought the loud noises were part of the film’s sound effects. But then a ceiling panel fell directly on her, leaving the 29-year-old with bruises to her shoulder and arm. She claims the panel could have hit her head, had she not been leaning on the armrest. Her daughter and friend, on the other hand, escaped the incident unscathed.
Villaverde stated that cinema staff offered no help after the incident, adding that she had to leave the building on her own in order to get X-rays done. The mother is still shaken by the scary incident, which has left her wary of returning to cinemas in general.
She has since contacted a lawyer and is planning to take legal action against the cinema, while authorities are still investigating the incident. Cinema Ocho has not yet released an official statement.
Social media users are flooded with reactions over the eerie experience, with some saying it became a “5D experience.” Other commenters pointed out the irony of the incident, considering the fact that the movie series is based on ‘cheating death.’
