CRICKET – Akshay Jayan authored an unstoppable 202 not out off 82 balls to propel Cricket Jousters to a colossal 143-run triumph against Titans CC in Division C of the Khalid Bin Hamad Cricket League 2026.
Opening for the victors, Jayan put in one of the most impressive innings ever witnessed on the cricket field in the kingdom. His unbeaten 202 – a new benchmark for the competition – was studded with 28 boundaries and eight soaring sixes, carrying Jousters to a mountainous 260 for two in their allotted 20 overs.
Confronted with the daunting task of 13 runs required per over from ball one, Titans never found their footing.
A gritty lower-order effort could only take them to 117 for six, handing Jousters a comprehensive 143-run victory that flatters neither the margin of defeat nor the brilliance of the man who made it happen.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Jayan and opening partner Praveen Prakash, who added a brisk 25 before being caught, fashioned a blistering powerplay stand that set the tone in the contest. By the close of the Jousters’ innings, the scoreboard read like a misprint – but it was not.
For Titans, pride came in the form of runs against the clock rather than runs in the chase.
Their bowlers kept two Jousters wickets in hand – a minor statistical consolation amid their opponents’ dominance.
