The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) will support the employment and career development of about 90 Bahraini nationals at WestPoint Home, a prominent textile manufacturer.
The initiative aligns with Tamkeen’s 2025 strategic priorities, aiming to boost the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector and equip them for career advancement. Manufacturing is a cornerstone of Bahrain’s non-oil economy, ranking as the second-largest GDP contributor in 2024 at 15.1 per cent.
“Our continued support of WestPoint Home since 2017 has been instrumental in expanding its operations and developing its capabilities, enhancing the role of Bahraini talent through job creation and career growth,” said Tamkeen chief growth officer Khalid Al Bayat. He added that Tamkeen takes pride in backing organisations that prioritize human capital development, strengthening the private sector’s competitiveness and sustainability.
WestPoint Home human resources manager Aziz Ahmed acknowledged the partnership, stating it “has significantly contributed to our business growth.” He highlighted the collaboration’s role in building a strong organizational structure rooted in national talent, offering numerous employment and leadership opportunities.
Founded in 2006, WestPoint Home is a global leader in textile manufacturing, known for its advanced machinery and state-of-the-art dyeing and printing facility.
Tamkeen offers various programmes to support employment and career development for Bahraini professionals, ensuring their preference in the labour market, and provides enterprise support programmes to strengthen the private sector as the main driver of economic growth.
