Youth Affairs Minister Rawan Tawfiqi has announced the launch of the ‘Daem Al Shabab’ (Youth Support) initiative as part of a comprehensive national strategy aimed at promoting the participation and empowerment of Bahraini youth in various sectors.
This initiative is in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad’s representative for humanitarian works and youth affairs and Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, which aims to support youth and provide an institutional environment that nurtures their ambitions.
Ms Tawfiqi emphasised that the initiative reflects the ministry’s strong commitment to supporting young people, encouraging organisations to adopt policies that match their goals and offering real chance for them to play an active role in national development.
She highlighted that Youth Support is one of the initiatives of the Youth Enabling Committee in the public and private sectors and an extension of the ministry’s vision to continue strengthening institutional partnerships and opening sustainable pathways for youth engagement through training, empowerment and creating environments conducive to achieving their aspirations.
The minister said the initiative invites all public and private sector institutions to be active partners in creating opportunities and supporting promising youth ideas.
She emphasised that the initiative follows clear criteria to assess institutions’ impact on employment, training, empowerment and decision-making participation. It reflects the idea of investing in national talent and promoting a culture of community partnership.
She added that through an accredited classification system for institutions across various categories, the initiative ‘Daem Al Shabab’ aims to create a positive, competitive environment that encourages different entities to raise their standards in supporting youth and to make empowerment a national strategic priority. She commended the role of partners, supporters and donors, expressing appreciation for their valuable contributions to the success of this ambitious national project.
