MOTORSPORT – BAHRAINI-BRITISH GT team 2 Seas Motorsport were praised yesterday for their “stellar performance” in the eighth and penultimate round of the 2025 British GT Championship.
The pair of 2 Seas crews showed their impressive pace over the weekend’s hotly contested events held at Brands Hatch circuit in the UK.
Kevin Tse and Maximillian Goetz powered to pole position for the meeting’s two-hour race in their #18 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo, and then teammates Charles Dawson and Kiern Jewiss stormed to an historic victory in 2 Seas’ #42 car.
The results put 2 Seas on track for an incredible title-double this British GT season, with just one round remaining. They extended their lead in the GT3 teams’ championship to 56 points, while Dawson and Jewiss remained as solo leaders in the GT3 drivers’ overall standings, with Tse and Goetz not far behind in fourth and still with a mathematical chance of stealing the crown.
2 Seas co-owner and racer, Bahrain’s Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa, was all praise for the team following their Brands Hatch success.
“It was another bumper weekend for the team, sharing the spoils over the two days,” Shaikh Isa said. “It is always a challenge arriving at a weekend off the back of no testing, and Brands Hatch always delivers a great weekend of racing and is tough to overtake around, but both sides of the garage proved themselves to be the ones to beat.
“Kevin and Max delivered in qualifying, knowing they had a lot to do in the race to overhaul the success penalty from the last race, while Charles and Kiern pulled off another stellar performance.
“They kept to the plan, both drove brilliantly, and the crew executed a fantastic strategy to bring home their third win of the season, and a first win for AMG at Brands Hatch as well.
“Very proud of the whole team, and it really is all to play for heading to Donington.”
The campaign’s ninth and final round will be held at Donington Park on October 4 and 5, where 2 Seas are favourites to be crowned.
In the GT3 teams’ championship, they are in first place with 274.5 points, followed by Lamborghini-powered Barwell Motorsport on 218.5 points. McLaren-powered Optimum Motorsport are a distant third with 137 points.
In the GT3 drivers’ overall championship, Dawson and Jewiss lead with 155.5 points apiece. Their closest challengers are the pairing of Giacomo Petrobelli and Jonny Adam competing for Aston Martin-powered Blackthorn, and the Optimum duo of Morgan Tillbrook and Marvin Kirchhofer, all of whom are on 127 points each. Tse and Goetz are fourth on 119 points apiece.
“It’s amazing to be in this position heading to Donington, but we still have a long way to go,” said Dawson. “It will be a case of doing what we’ve done all year for one final race – heads down, work hard, and just run our own race.”
Added Jewiss: “It’s going to be another challenge heading to Donington, but can’t wait to see what we can do, one last time.”
