HANDBALL – THE Bahrain Olympic Committee’s (BOC) equal opportunities and gender balance in sports committee held a coordination meeting with the Bahrain Handball Federation (BHF) to discuss means to develop and to enhance women’s participation in the game in the kingdom.
The meeting, which took place at the BHF headquarters, discussed the current state of handball and reviewed the main challenges and obstacles facing its development. It also presented proposals and practical solutions to raise the technical and organisational level of women’s competitions and to broaden participation at various levels.
The discussions underscored the importance of joint cooperation between the relevant entities to ensure a motivating and safe sporting environment that supports the empowerment of Bahraini women in the sports field.
Participating in the meeting were committee members Salama Mohammed Atiq and Wafa Ibrahim Al Jazzaf along with BHF board member Zahra Qaed.
The committee reiterated its commitment to supporting all efforts aimed at achieving gender balance in the sports field, emphasising the importance of continued cooperation with national sports federations to implement related plans and initiatives.
