ATHLETICS – Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) vice-president Shaikh Isa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa received Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics chairman David Howman CNZM and AIU head Brett Clothier.
The meeting was attended by General Sports Authority (GSA) CEO Dr Abdulrahman Askar, BOC secretary general Faris Al Kooheji, Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) president Mohammed bin Jalal, and BOC board member Captain Waleed Al Alawi.
Shaikh Isa welcomed the delegation to the kingdom and conveyed the greetings of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, GSA chairman, and BOC president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Isa emphasised Bahrain’s keenness to enhance cooperation with AIU in various fields that serve the development of the sport, particularly in the areas of integrity, transparency, and adherence to international regulations and standards, which contribute to consolidating the principles of fair competition and protecting athletes.
Shaikh Isa affirmed that the BOC and BAA are committed to building bridges of cooperation with international bodies and exchanging expertise in the field of sports governance and integrity.
During their meeting, Shaikh Isa presented Howman with a token of appreciation.
