New fines set by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Municipalities and Housing dictate a SR 1,000 (BD 100) fine for serving frozen juices while claiming they are fresh.
The new fines also include a SR 1,000 (BD 100) fine for not wearing face masks in food preparation areas. Additionally, not covering their heads, and being caught spitting or touching their nose and mouth will result in a SR 2,000 (BD 200) fine.
The biggest fine of all is for smoking in undesignated smoking areas within food outlets, which will result in a SR 5,000 (BD 500) fine.
