A new state-of-the-art high-field, open-architecture MRI system designed for patient comfort and diagnostic confidence is now operational at the BDF Hospital, Riffa.
The Fujifilm Oasis Velocity 1.2T Open MRI has begun receiving patients for diagnostic scans under the supervision of a specialised medical and technical team.
Royal Medical Services (RMS) Commander Brigadier General Dr Shaikh Fahad bin Khalifa Al Khalifa said that the new machine marked a significant advancement in diagnostic services in the kingdom.

“The device offers precision, speed and high-quality results, in addition to providing a comfortable and safe experience for patients,” he added.
“It is considered an ideal option for specific groups such as children, patients with obesity, and individuals suffering from claustrophobia.
“It serves as an effective alternative to traditional closed MRI scanners, with applications in diagnosing brain and nerve disorders, tumours, bone conditions, and ear, nose and throat diseases.”
The installation of the machine followed the completion of a comprehensive project that included designing, constructing and equipping a dedicated room in line with the highest international standards.
