A SERIAL thief, who was sentenced in absentia to jail for assault and robbery, has been granted a retrial.The 43-year-old Bahraini man, who has served multiple prison sentences for theft, was sentenced to five years in prison for robbing a man of his car keys and taking off in the victim’s beat-up Nissan Sunny, outside a multi-storey hypermarket in Hajiyat .
