ASIAN YOUTH GAMES – The third Asian Youth Games will feature full television coverage, with documentation, reports, and live broadcasts of the various sporting events, including the opening and closing ceremonies.
This is according to Ministry of Information undersecretary Yousif Mohammed Albinkhalil.
He emphasised that the mega, multi-sport event, taking place this October 22 to 31, is a major occasion that reflects Bahrain’s prominent standing in organising international events, particularly in sports.
Media coverage will be managed through the Games’ International Broadcasting Centre (IBC), which will serve as the hub for global distribution.
The IBC will include studios, control rooms, advanced infrastructure with servers, fibre networks, satellites and cloud systems, as well as a newsroom, workspaces for media teams, and a coordination centre to ensure smooth operations for broadcasts to channels and digital platforms.
In addition to that, the Information Ministry has also prepared a digital media strategy, providing live streaming of the main games on digital platforms and daily multimedia content.
This will include around 40 posts and 40 stories each day on social media, covering competition schedules, results, highlights, award ceremonies, interviews, and fan moments.
A daily video summarising the Games’ highlights will also be produced by a specialised team of content creators, translators, and account managers.
Albinkhalil added that coverage will be distributed through regional and international sports channels to reach a wide audience.
He noted that the Information Ministry has partnered with TikTok as the Games’ digital partner to provide interactive and live content in line with modern digital media trends, reaching young audiences locally and internationally.
