Sustainable Development Minister and Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) chief executive officer Noor Al Khulaif joined a high-profile lineup of global leaders, including former US Secretary of State and Impact Investments executive chairman Mike Pompeo, at the 9th edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII9) in Riyadh.
The minister spoke on the panel ‘Is FDI Pulling Away from the West?’ alongside Mr Pompeo, banking expert Nadia Alsaeed, and Quinn Emanuel executive chairman John B Quinn.
The session, moderated by CNN anchor Eleni Giokos, examined the shifting map of global finance and how nations can capture the next wave of foreign direct investment (FDI), particularly as emerging markets are projected to drive more than 75 per cent of global growth in 2025 (IMF).
During the discussion, Ms Al Khulaif highlighted Bahrain’s success in building a competitive, future-ready economy.
She stressed that the kingdom’s appeal is driven by a combination of regulatory innovation, a highly-skilled local workforce, and a business-friendly environment designed to attract long-term, sustainable capital.
She further showcased Bahrain’s broader diversification efforts, which position it as a dynamic investment destination offering agility and long-term stability.
By aligning policy, human capital development, and innovation, Bahrain continues to create new opportunities for investors across key priority sectors, including financial services, ICT, manufacturing, logistics, and tourism.
Held under the theme ‘The Key to Prosperity, Unlocking New Frontiers of Growth’, FII9 brought together global policymakers, business leaders, and investors to explore pathways for sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
