A private school bus driver has been referred to the Public Prosecution for negligence after forgetting a child who had fallen asleep on the bus, the Education Ministry said yesterday.
Although the driver later realised his mistake and returned to find the child safe and unharmed, he allegedly attempted to conceal the incident from the child’s parents.
The ministry stated that it has formed an investigative team to work closely with the school’s administration to ensure strict compliance with safety protocols for school buses and their drivers.
It reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of oversight across all educational and operational processes in private institutions.
The ministry also expressed its gratitude to the community and parents for their vigilance in safeguarding children and ensuring their well-being.
