ENDURANCE HORSERACING – His Majesty King Hamad’s humanitarian work and youth affairs representative, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) chairman, and Bahrain Royal Endurance Team captain Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa participated yesterday in the 120-kilometre endurance ride of the FEI Asian Championships, held in Pattaya, Thailand.
Attending the race were SCYS first deputy chairman, General Sports Authority chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; along with Supreme Council for the Environment vice-president, Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club (REHC) High Committee deputy chairman, and SCYS member Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa; Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa; Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa; and Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The ride was held over five stages featuring varied terrain, and Shaikh Nasser spearheaded the Royal Endurance Team.
Shaikh Nasser affirmed that participating in the Asian championships was a positive experience for the squad.
Shaikh Nasser praised the race’s high standards and the open competition amongst participants, and congratulated the top three.
Saeed Ahmed Al Harbi from the UAE riding Ras Flor Del Pago was the victor.
Royal Endurance Team rider Saud Mubarak Sabt on Faraon De Mouss followed in second place, while Prutirat Ratanakul Serireongrith from Thailand riding Shardell Electric Silver came third.
Shaikh Nasser’s horse Everest La Majorie did not pass the veterinary examination in the final stage.
