BASKETBALL – AN official delegation representing the European and Middle Eastern arm of the National Basketball Association (NBA) arrived in the kingdom yesterday for a visit, during which they will meet with the Bahrain Basketball Association (BBA) to discuss prospects for future partnerships and cooperation between the two sides.
The visiting delegation includes NBA Europe and Middle East senior vice-president and managing director George Aivazoglou, NBA Europe and Middle East business development associate vice-president David Watts, and NBA basketball business operations senior director Henry Utku.
Their visit comes as a complementary step to building on the previous meeting with the BBA in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, which witnessed extensive discussions on technical and commercial cooperation, academy programmes and training workshops, and opening new channels to support emerging Bahraini talents and their ability to enter professional paths and international academic opportunities.
