Gold prices in the local market witnessed an increase during trading yesterday. The price of 21-karat gold rose to BD46,400 per gram, 22-karat gold BD48,600 per gram, and 24-karat gold BD53,100 per gram, while the ounce rose to $4,347. This came in line with the weekend closure of global exchanges, following the strong gains achieved by gold internationally last week, amounting to 2.4 per cent.
