The Shura Council marked Bahrain’s National Day celebrations, the Accession Anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad and related national occasions with a keynote address delivered by council chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh during the session yesterday.
Mr Al Saleh congratulated the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, praising the national celebrations as an expression of pride and collective appreciation for Bahrain’s modern achievements under the wise leadership.
He also congratulated citizens, lauding their dedication, perseverance and commitment to serving the nation and advancing its interests.
He highlighted the importance of constructive co-operation between the Shura Council, Parliament, the government and all state institutions to sustain the legislative process in support of Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.
“These occasions provide an opportunity to renew our pledge of loyalty to His Majesty,” he said, “and to exert our utmost efforts through the work of the Shura Council to support the blessed national journey by developing legislation that keeps pace with Bahrain’s growth and aspirations.”
Mr Al Saleh also congratulated His Majesty on Bahrain Police Day, marked annually on December 14.
He expressed his deep appreciation to police officers for their loyalty, sacrifice and commitment to safeguarding national achievements and maintaining the security and stability enjoyed by Bahrain.
The Shura Council chairman then read the council’s statement marking Martyrs’ Day, observed on December 17.
“The council remembers the martyrs of duty who sacrificed their pure souls for the homeland,” Mr Al Saleh said. “They fulfilled their national mission with honesty and devotion, embodying the highest meanings of sacrifice in military, security and humanitarian fields.”
Mr Al Saleh also read a statement welcoming the Chinese Embassy delegation as guests to the session, praising the strong relations between both countries in all fields.
