The kingdom today is rejoicing the occasion of Bahrain’s National Day and the anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s accession to the throne.
The King will patronise a ceremony this afternoon at Sakhir Palace which will serve as a platform for him to express his pride in the nation’s advancements and his aspirations for Bahrain’s future. He will give a speech at the ceremony.
His Majesty received cables of congratulations from leaders of Arab, Islamic and friendly states on the occasion.
His Majesty, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of the King and Supreme Council for Women president, exchanged greetings on the occasion.
The leaders were also greeted by ministers, senior state officials, defence officers, dignitaries and citizens.
The Cabinet extended its congratulations to His Majesty on the National Day and the anniversary of his accession to the throne. The Cabinet also extended its congratulations to the citizens and residents of Bahrain, wishing the kingdom continued progress and prosperity.
Landmarks, ministries and malls are lit up in the red and white colours of the Bahraini flag. A rich programme of diverse activities has been lined up to celebrate the milestones.
A fireworks display will take place at 7pm at Bahrain International Circuit to mark the occasion. Entrance is free and parking will be available at the circuit. The organisers urged attendees to arrive as early as possible as a large turnout is expected. Food kiosks will also be on hand at the circuit, making for a fun and relaxing evening out with family and friends.
