National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended the Commemoration Day ceremony yesterday.
Present were Royal Guard’s Special Operations Commander Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, senior officers, non-commissioned officers, members of the Royal Guard and a number of BDF officers.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser said that Commemoration Day is a national occasion of lasting significance that embodies the highest values of sacrifice, honouring the heroism of Bahrain’s fallen servicemen who gave their lives in defence of the country, its leadership and its people.
He noted that their sacrifices will remain a source of pride and a guide for future generations.
Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, with the follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, provides care and support to the families of fallen servicemen, he said.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser added that the great sacrifices made by Bahrain’s fallen servicemen will remain present in the conscience of the nation and serve as a testament to their courage, bravery and dedication in performing their national duty.
He later marked the occasion by watering a palm tree, a gesture symbolising life, resilience and continuity.
