Eight companies competed in a tender floated by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) planning and studies directorate to provide consultancy services for a project to construct the Ras Abu Jarjoor groundwater desalination plant.
Four companies competed in a tender issued by the EWA planning and studies directorate to build two underground storage tanks and water transfer pumps.
The tender also includes the new Hawar water distribution station, which consists of two steel tanks with a capacity of one million gallons each.
The station will receive water from the reverse osmosis production plant, to be constructed, and the water will be pumped into the existing Hawar Island water distribution network.
