IT will be cold and windy from this evening until Thursday, say weathermen.
Bahrain is expected to experience the colder weather due to the return of northerly winds, the Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry’s Meteorological Directorate said yesterday.
It indicated that winds are expected to be moderate to active, becoming strong at times on Tuesday and Wednesday.
This may lead to blowing dust in some areas and unsettled sea conditions, with wave heights ranging between one and three feet along coastal areas and reaching three to six feet offshore.
The winds are also expected to contribute to a drop in temperatures, with maximum temperatures likely to range between 17C and 19C, with minimum temperatures between 11-13C, it said.
Felt temperatures are expected to be lower, particularly at night and during the early morning hours, due to the wind.
The directorate noted that the forecast temperatures are below the average levels for January, which stand at 21C for maximum temperatures and 15C for minimum.
The Meteorological Directorate advised the public, particularly sea-goers, to exercise caution and to follow official bulletins and warnings issued through its various channels.
