A total of 12 concepts have qualified for the seventh edition of the Government Innovation Competition (Fikra).
The contest aims to foster creativity and innovation across the public sector in support of the kingdom’s development. By strengthening government workstreams and improving the quality and efficiency of government services, Fikra contributes to meeting the aspirations of Bahrain’s citizens and residents.
In total, 40 innovative concepts were rigorously evaluated, during which participants presented their ideas to four committees which included experts and specialists. Each team was allotted three minutes to present its proposal, after which the presentations were assessed against a set criteria.
The committees then selected 12 concepts for the final stage of the Fikra competition. The selected concepts are:
1. Savings and Investment Programme by Ahmed Ridha Sanad, Ali Khalil Ebrahim Fadhul and Abdulla Ali Sultan Alshamlan from the Finance and National Economy Ministry.
2. Ata’a – The National Giving Platform by Ahmed Saleh Mejairan from the Labour Fund (Tamkeen).
3. Floating Oases by Bassam Mohammed Alshuwaikh from the Supreme Council for Environment.
4. Smart Employment Adviser by Jalal Jaafar Maki from the Legal Affairs Ministry.
5. Rahma by Salamah Hashel Zayed Alkobaisi from the Finance and National Economy Ministry.
6. Takamul by Captain Abdulla Waheed Almannaei and Alaa Ahmed Albalooshi from the Interior Ministry.
7. Secondary Education Curriculum Enhancement by Abdulla Mohamed Abdulla Badow from the Education Ministry.
8. Tameni by Ali Husain Darwish, Maha Majeed Almaarej, Narjes Yusuf Sabt and Fatema Ateya Alaradi from Government Hospitals.
9. Annual Leaves Exchange Platform by Mohamed Ebrahim Alhasan, Asma Naser Almosawi and Noof Ali Fakhro from the Information and e-Government Authority (iGA).
10. Wasalt by Manal Ali Alhashemi from the National Communication Centre.
11. Tawazun by Maha Bader Abdulla Bader Alsada, Ahmed Hasan Abdulrahman Bucheeri from the Social Insurance Organisation and Nayla Musaad Matar from the Industry and Commerce Ministry.
12. MindForward by Walaa A Hadi Ahmed Albaqali from Government Hospitals.
In the final stage of the competition, the qualifying teams will present their concept to a jury consisting of ministers, who will choose the most successful idea and announce the winner of the ‘Public Vote’.
