Bahrain has expressed deep appreciation, as chair of the current session of the GCC, for the pivotal role played by Saudi Arabia and the UAE in supporting security and stability in Yemen. This stems from their fraternal responsibilities and shared commitment to the security and stability of the Gulf region, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement yesterday.
It affirmed Bahrain’s confidence in the wisdom of the leaderships of Saudi Arabia and the UAE and their ability to contain any differences in viewpoints within the framework of the GCC unity and the principles of solidarity and mutual understanding.
This serves the shared aspirations to consolidate security, stability, peace and prosperity for the benefit of the countries of the region and their brotherly peoples, the statement added.
The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Bahrain’s firm and supportive stance towards all regional and international initiatives as well as the efforts aimed at reaching a comprehensive and lasting political solution in Yemen.
It underscored the importance of the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism, the outcomes of the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions in this regard.
