A 34-year-old Arab woman residing in Hawally, Kuwait, was allegedly defrauded of KD 1,800 (approximately BD 2,200) by a man posing as a prospective suitor.
According to the victim, the man exploited her emotional vulnerability under the pretext of marriage. After gaining her trust, he reportedly persuaded her to purchase several high-value items for their “future home,” including furniture and household appliances.
Shortly after the purchases were made, the man began reducing contact with the victim before eventually ghosting her and blocking all communication.
Following a police report filed by the victim, authorities apprehended the suspect. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to selling all the household items and disposing of the mobile phones for profit.
The case has been referred to the competent authorities for further legal action.
