In line with the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, reflecting his vision for comprehensive development with citizens at its core, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today ordered the Ministry of Social Development to increase financial support for low-income families through the cost-of-living allowance, effective from January 2026.
This decision aligns with His Royal Highness’s commitment to develop social services and strengthen welfare programmes for low-income households, in line with the government’s workstreams priorities to enhance living standards and support citizens.
The Ministry of Social Development shall complete all necessary procedures to implement the order and disburse the revised allowances as follows:
• Increasing the allowance to BD 130 per month for families where the primary income earner earns less than BD 300 per month.
• Increasing the allowance to BD 97 per month for families where the primary income earner earns between BD 301 and BD 700 per month.
• Increasing the allowance to BD 75 per month for families where primary income earner earns between BD 701 and BD 1,000 per month.
