Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa honoured members of the security teams from the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, who succeeded in uncovering the circumstances of security cases and arresting the suspects. Chief of Police Lieutenant General Tariq Al Hassan and ministry Under-Secretary Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa were present. The cases included the arrest of two Chinese nationals at the airport in connection with the theft of gold jewellery from a residence valued at approximately BD50,000; the arrest of two suspects for setting a fire and attempting to blow up an ATM of a national bank; and the arrest of two Asians involved in the murder of another person. The minister commended the high level of readiness and professionalism demonstrated by the honoured officers and non-commissioned officers, as well as their courage and swift response in handling incidents and security cases, in a manner that safeguards public safety and security. He emphasised that security efforts do not end with the arrest of offenders, but must also include strengthening security awareness to contribute to crime prevention.
