Muharraq Governor Salman Bin Hindi yesterday inaugurated the second edition of a book fair at Dar Al Amamra in Muharraq, featuring a remarkable collection of rare books, manuscripts and magazines, some of which date back more than 200 years.
The exhibition, which runs until January 10, offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore historically significant publications that reflect the region’s cultural and intellectual heritage.
During the opening, the governor praised historian and poet Mubarak Al Amari for his dedication to preserving and documenting valuable cultural treasures.
He said the initiative added depth to Bahrain’s cultural scene and provided researchers, academics and the wider public with access to rare and important works.
Mr Bin Hindi reaffirmed the Muharraq Governorate’s commitment to supporting cultural initiatives that help strengthen national identity, preserve heritage and encourage community engagement in intellectual and creative activities.
Mr Al Amari expressed his appreciation for the governor’s support and encouragement, stressing the importance of safeguarding historical sources for future generations.
He invited book lovers, researchers and students to visit the fair and explore its exceptional collection.
