His Majesty King Hamad received a letter of thanks from his Adviser for Cultural and Scientific Affairs Hala Al Ansari following the royal directive to rename Bahrain Teachers College as Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari Teachers College.
In the letter, conveyed in her name and on behalf of the family of the Bahraini thinker Dr Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari, she expressed appreciation for the royal directive, noting that it reflects His Majesty’s commitment to recognising national intellectual figures and preserving their contributions to education and knowledge.
Bahrain University announced the renaming of the Bahrain Teachers College following the directives of His Majesty.
Education Minister and chairman of the board of trustees of the university Dr Mohammed Mubarak Juma expressed his pride and appreciation for the royal directive to name the college responsible for graduating distinguished teachers, who play an important role in educating future generations, after the prominent Bahraini thinker.
He noted that Dr Al Ansari served as a lecturer at the Higher Institute for Teachers in the 1960s before becoming one of the most influential Arab intellectuals.
The minister also expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for laying the foundations for establishing the college as a pioneering educational development project.
He noted that the college has become a distinguished name in the quality of teacher preparation and training at both the local and international levels.
Darat Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari for Thought and Culture also praised the royal directive to rename Bahrain Teachers College.
Maysa Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari, chairperson of the board of trustees of the centre, said the directive reflects the kingdom’s approach to honouring national intellectual figures and highlights the link between thought and education, underscoring the role of teachers in national development.
Hala Al Ansari, who is also a founding member of the centre, expressed appreciation for the directive, noting that it preserves Dr Mohammed Jaber Al Ansari’s legacy within the national memory and aligns with the mission of teacher education.
