Bahrain’s Farmers Market in Budaiya serves as an integrated platform for marketing local agricultural products and supporting domestic production, a top official from the Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture Ministry has said.
The market has recorded strong attendance from citizens and residents, reflecting growing confidence in national agricultural products and their role in supporting the local agricultural sector, Under-Secretary for Agriculture Affairs and Animal Wealth Asim Abdullatif Abdulla said.
The market is hosted at the Budaiya Botanical Garden, in partnership with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, stc Bahrain, and Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company. It receives visitors every Saturday until February 14, with the participation of Bahraini farmers, local brands and artisans.
“The current season includes 33 local farmers, alongside agricultural companies, nurseries, and apiaries, as well as sections for artisans, productive families, restaurants and cafés,” the under-secretary said.
The market, he added, has witnessed notable demand for locally-produced agricultural goods over the past six weeks, particularly vegetables, underscoring consumer confidence in national produce and the market’s role in directly supporting and marketing local agricultural output during the current season.
