The Shura Council delegation participating in the Arab Parliament sessions underscored Bahrain’s continued commitment for just peace and Gaza relief.
It also reiterated its commitment to strengthening regional and international security, supporting dialogue and understanding among states and prioritising peaceful solutions to disputes and conflicts.
The delegation noted that this approach reflects the vision of His Majesty King Hamad, supported by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and is grounded in respect for international legitimacy and state sovereignty, contributing to stability and limiting the impact of conflicts on peoples.
The delegation highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s participation in the US-led Board of Peace, noting that it demonstrates the kingdom’s support for international efforts aimed at achieving a just and comprehensive peace.
It also reflects Bahrain’s commitment to political solutions that safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, alleviate humanitarian suffering and help restore dignified living conditions for the residents of the Gaza Strip, in accordance with international legitimacy and principles that uphold security and stability.
These remarks were made during the delegation’s participation in the second session of the second convening of the fourth legislative term of the Arab Parliament, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.
The delegation included Shura Council’s legislative and legal affairs committee deputy head and Arab Parliament’s political, foreign affairs and national security committee member Dr Adel Al Maawda and Shura Council’s services committee and the Arab Parliament’s economic and financial affairs committee member Dr Ibtisam Al Dallal.
Dr Al Maawda emphasised the role of parliamentary action in supporting government efforts to protect the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, particularly in light of the severe humanitarian conditions facing the residents of the Gaza Strip and the acute shortage of basic living requirements.
He noted that joint Arab parliamentary action represents a core pillar in strengthening Arab national security, defending just Arab causes, and supporting diplomatic and peaceful approaches to resolving conflicts in a manner that preserves the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Arab states.
He also underlined the importance of unifying Arab positions in regional and international parliamentary forums and intensifying parliamentary engagement in defending Arab causes, reflecting the aspirations of Arab peoples for security, stability and development.
Dr Al Dallal highlighted Bahrain’s role in addressing Arab and Islamic issues, as well as human rights matters.
She stressed the need to bring an end to the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip and noted that Bahrain’s participation in the Arab Parliament reflects its support for joint action and its commitment to ensuring effective representation of Arab issues in international forums concerned with peace and security.
Dr Al Dallal also highlighted the importance of strengthening economic integration, supporting intra-Arab investment and following up on financial and administrative issues related to the work of the Arab Parliament.
She noted that economic integration is a fundamental pillar supporting comprehensive Arab national security and long-term stability, adding that Bahrain places particular emphasis on economic and social legislation that promotes growth, sustainable development, social justice and improved living standards, within a balanced approach that integrates economic and humanitarian considerations.
