Manama: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Prime Minister, today met with Commodore Dan Thomas, the newly appointed Commander of the UK Maritime Component Command ME, at Gudaibiya Palace.
His Royal Highness affirmed the strength of the strategic partnership between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom, which continues to advance across various fields, particularly in the military and defence sector.
His Royal Highness emphasised the importance of ongoing efforts to develop cooperation and advance longstanding bilateral relations and joint agreements, including the Comprehensive Security and Integrated Prosperity Agreement (C-SIPA), to achieve shared goals.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad noted the United Kingdom’s pivotal role, alongside allied countries, in safeguarding regional and global security and stability.
HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad welcomed Commodore Thomas to the Kingdom of Bahrain and extended his best wishes for success in his new role.
During the meeting, the latest regional and international developments, ways to strengthen bilateral relations, and issues of common interest were also discussed.
Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister’s Court, also attended the meeting.
